
Dr. Soliman is an applied microeconomist focusing on drug markets, policing, and neighborhoods. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Economics at Clemson University. Some of his recent publications include “Disrupting Drug Markets: The Effects of Crackdowns on Rogue Opioid Suppliers” (American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, 2025), “Crime and (a Preference for) Punishment: The Effects of Drug Policy Reform on Policing Activity” (The Journal of Law and Economics, 2022), and “Prescriptive Drought Policy and Water Supplier Compliance” (Ecological Economics, 2022). Previously, he was a postdoctoral scholar at the London School of Economics. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from Duke University in 2023. Prior to attending graduate school, he was a primary and secondary school teacher in Dubai.
