Avalon Health Economics is happy to announce the addition of two new consultants to our panel. Jeff Kamil, MD, joins us in the area of U.S. market access and reimbursement. Jeff worked with John Schneider, Avalon’s CEO, several years ago when John was Director of Research at the California Association of Health Plans. Dr. Kamil has had a distinguished career in the U.S. health insurance and managed care industry. From 1997 to 2012, he was Vice President and Senior Medical Director at Anthem/WellPoint Blue Cross and Chief Medical Officer of Anthem Blue Cross of California. During his tenure at Anthem Dr. Kamil earned numerous professional honors, including winning the first full NCQA accreditation for Blue Cross of California. Click here for Dr. Kamil’s full biosketch.
Also joining us recently is Stephanie Wels, who will provide assistance on projects. Ms. Wels is a currently an MHS candidate at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she is studying Health Economics with a concentration in comparative effectiveness & outcomes research. Her research interests include statistical and financial valuation on effectiveness of health interventions, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical drugs.
